What a great turnout in Coogee this week to sweep the beach clean after the massive swells last week washed up large amounts of marine debris. A couple ambassadors short this week, Justin ran in from Bondi to join the team, enjoying the ever-mesmerising coastline through Tamarama, Bronte, Waverly Cemetery, Clovelly, and Gordon's Bay - with endless hills and steps - along the way.
We were very excited to be joined by Rafy and two local students eager to spread the message and bring friends from their high school to future cleanups. Goodonya, girls!
A stellar effort this week from the Coogee crew! Always stunning to see the amount of recyclables and waste left behind on the golden sands on such a fine Sunday. But a big thumbs up to the dedicated volunteers of Coogee for devoting their time and kilojoules to scanning the beach and leaving it all in a healthier state for all to enjoy and admire. A big thanks from the RR team for your energy, and here's to hoping you got a post-clean up swim happening in the glorious 23 degree water!
Congratulations to Responsible Runners Coogee on a fun and hugely successful inaugural clean up! Thanks to all those who came out to make a difference for our beautiful beaches. Join RR Coogee every Sunday at 6PM. Please suggest our page to friends to help raise awareness about the dangers of single-use disposable litter, plastic, and cigarette butts to our marine environment. Don't forget to send us your email address to receive updates on future events and clean ups. RR is growing fast - who will be the next to start a group in their area?
